Jubilant Jubilee
12 Jun, 2012
We've had a bit of a knees up this month to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. We've always been keen to mark royal occasions here at the Distillery. Our founder John Hopkins was so determined that whisky would be produced to mark the Jubilee year of Queen Victoria that workers in heavy overcoats toiled through a blizzard on the night of the last day of 1897, to ensure that one single barrel of vintage Speyburn was made.
The people of Rothes have been celebrating too, with the Rothes Primary School giving a fantastic Grand Jubilee Concert in the Grant Hall, and street party events in Seafield Square. Happy Jubilee, your Majesty!
