We've had a bit of a knees up this month to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. We've always been keen to mark royal occasions here at the Distillery. Our founder John Hopkins was so determined that whisky would be produced to mark the Jubilee year of Queen Victoria that workers in heavy overcoats toiled through a blizzard on the night of the last day of 1897, to ensure that one single barrel of vintage Speyburn was made.
The people of Rothes have been celebrating too, with the Rothes Primary School giving a fantastic Grand Jubilee Concert in the Grant Hall, and street party events in Seafield Square. Happy Jubilee, your Majesty!
Since we launched Clan Speyburn last month we have been delighted to welcome more than 2,000 Clan members from as far afield as the US, UK, Canada, Japan, Israel, Belgium and Mozambique - and even a few in our hometown of Rothes.
Here in Rothes we're basking in the success of our distillery golf team - James Logie, Andy Fiske, Sandy Reid and Bobby Anderson - who won the 2011 Malt Distillers trophy at Grantown at the back end of the year.
Keep an eye out in the stores for our new-look packaging. We redesigned our labels and bottle sleeves in November 2011 to give them a fresher, more contemporary look.
